During the month of May, Egyptian courts issued death sentences to 34 defendants in 25 cases. Among them, 5 were issued final verdicts that could not be appealed. Additionally, 33 defendants' papers were referred to the Grand Mufti in 23 other cases.

It should be noted that these numbers represent the minimum that researchers were able to determine through families and media reports.
