During the month of June, Egyptian courts issued death sentences to 40 defendants in 24 cases. Among them, 1 was issued final verdicts that could not be appealed. Additionally, 28 defendants' papers were referred to the Grand Mufti in 20 other cases.

It should be noted that these numbers represent the minimum that researchers were able to determine through families and media reports.
